What changes,
with a date

Every change of dose, level of evidence or regulatory status is logged here. If something is withdrawn, we say why.

Log

  1. Studies

    Full review of the studies

We checked every study in the glossary on PubMed and corrected or completed 25 summaries. The most important was iron: the study cited concluded that 18 mg of bisglycinate raised ferritin less than 60 mg of sulphate, and we had summarised it the other way round. Every study funded by a manufacturer now says so, and NAC and NR now have cited studies where before there was only a comment.

  2. Regulatory

    L-theanine, spermidine, NAC and cranberry

L-theanine: in the EU only L-theanine extracted from tea is permitted in supplements; synthetic or fermentation-derived L-theanine (such as Suntheanine®) is still awaiting authorisation, so the profile and its products change. Spermidine: the profile gives the authorised specification, 0.8–2.4 mg per gram of extract. NAC: 300 mg a day, the maximum proposed by AESAN. Cranberry: EFSA rejected the urinary tract infection claims. Curcumin: 153 mg of curcumin a day, the exact ANSES figure.

  3. Dosis

More brands in “Where to find it”

We added products from Vegavero, WeightWorld, Solgar and spermidineLIFE that meet each profile’s criteria, up to three per active. We recommend them even though we have no agreement with them: they are included on composition.

  4. Dosis

Where to find it, on every profile

Every profile and every result card now link to products from HSN, Life Extension Europe, Thorne and iHerb whose label meets the profile’s criteria. If they only partly meet them, we explain why. Today we earn no commission on these links.

  5. Studies

Studies checked on the 11 new profiles

Collagen, creatine, Siberian rhubarb, cranberry, probiotics, phosphatidylserine, bacopa, lion’s mane, spermidine, urolithin A and fisetin now have their studies, each checked on PubMed. When we rechecked the whole glossary we corrected six references that pointed to a different study from the one cited: they now link to the right one.

  6. Regulatory

Berberine, ALA, urolithin A and fisetin, in the library

They are sold in Europe, so they are in the library like any other active, and the quiz can suggest them at the Advanced level. Each profile and each result shows their regulatory status and precautions: EFSA has not set a safe intake for berberine or ALA, and urolithin A and fisetin have no confirmed novel food authorisation.

  7. Glossary

    New website and glossary v5

The glossary grows to 36 actives. Collagen, creatine, probiotics, cranberry, Siberian rhubarb, phosphatidylserine, bacopa, lion’s mane and spermidine are added. Their technical profiles are now published.

  8. Dosis

    Curcumin, with the ANSES limit

It moves to the advanced layer, without piperine and with a guideline maximum of 150 mg of curcuminoids a day. Trials use more, but more also increases its interactions with medicines.

  9. Regulatory

    NR instead of NMN

NMN has had a favourable EFSA opinion since May 2026, but it is not yet authorised. NR is, with a maximum of 300 mg a day.

02

What we are watching

  • EU authorisation of NMN, which could come in late 2026 or early 2027.
  • The authorisation application for fermentation-derived L-theanine (Taiyo, 2024).
  • EFSA’s final opinion on berberine.
  • The status in Spain of urolithin A, GABA, NAC and the rhubarb extract ERr 731.
